03.07.2013, Kasumama Africa Festival, Moorbad Harbach
Thirteen consecutive years and a great attendance even on the opening day of the festival. An African market, the fragrant scent of delicious African delicacies in the air and the sounding of drums which brought the whole atmosphere together for the festival visitors.
Numerous numbers of people streamed in, curious and with great interest of what the African culture had to display. The diversity of festival so wide ranged brought Africa and Europe together.
The weather was beautiful and the festivities came with smashing performances from the artist. Nomfusi and Iyasa. Nomfusi a South African based singer and up & coming artist brought her audience to life. Her music resonates of Motown and Sofiatown. Afro-pop is what she categorizes her music, with her splendid voice. She is currently on tour in Europe and by merely having seen her perform this one time, I come to adore her.
They say dynamite comes in small packages, this petite young lady definitely has an explosive voice. She recently released her first CD called "Take me home". She also has a Crowd funding project called "We love Nomfusi". For more information on this project that she is currently doing, visit her website. www.iggi.me/at/nomfusi.
Iyasa a performing group from Zimbabwe, they entertained both young and old. Their team of 8 members never fails to showcase their talent in African theater, song and dance. Their theatrical piece called Geraffrica was wonderful, with an important message. Iyasa is currently touring Europe.
