What an exhilarating feeling, that just the name alone Soweto Gospel Choir, had on me the day I found out that they would be in Vienna.

It was something special knowing that this great vocal group would be coming to lift the spirits of many in Vienna, while on their European Tour.

With an amazing turn out of people, just to make sure they had everyone's attention, the choir took to the stage singing on a dark stage and the opening gradually took shape as several different parts came together as one. Then things really started escalating, delving into Zulu praise songs, occasional odd songs like Bob Marley's One Love and then some African-American gospel.

Its rear finding such a range from one vocal group, but the Grammy-winning Soweto Gospel Choir is that one synchronized choir, with a harmonious balance of grainy, soulful tableau, modest expressions, the sacred and secular acappella backed band.

Well being that it was Gospel, it definitely was on another level, heavenly I'd say. Even so, it was very special to many South African's who attended the concert. Language was no barrier between the choir and the audience, as even those sitting around and beside me seem to be feeling the soulful vibes coming from the choir.
I believe at some point one could zone out and feeling as if one was back home in South Africa. The experience was spiritually reviving, amazing seeing the Soweto Gospel Choir in Vienna, 1000 of miles away from home.

Africanlife would like to thank Alex Hubner @ MMAX for inviting us to this wonderful concert.
