The objective of Mandela Day is to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better and in doing so building a global movement for good.

Its ultimate goal is to empower communities everywhere. "Take action, inspire Change, Make every Day a Mandela Day."

We wish Nelson Mandela all the best in his recovery!

The South African Embassy and Fosa together organized an event that united South Africans and guest all alike. The diversity and a wonderful turnout of what South Africa calls a Rainbow Nation to celebrate the take-off Mandela Day together was really great.

People came in support of a charity that would be assisted from the funds that were raised from the event. Traditional South African food and music and an atmosphere that has been missed by many. Activities for the kids and time for catching up, for those who had not seen each other in ages. Dancing and simply having fun. But not forgetting the objective of the day.

All festivities were enjoyed and a platform for us to unite once again very much appreciated. We thank Ambassador Mabongo for continuously encouraging support towards these initiatives and FOSA for its efforts in support of the needy.

Once again we look forward to the Summer Braai 2014!
