The United Nations Women’s Guild of Vienna, held their annual International Festival Bazaar on the 1st December 2012, the proceeds of the Bazaar, together with other funds raised by the UNWG during the year, are being donated to childrens charaties around the world.

Africa was very well represented at the Bazaar, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa and a few other countries had stalls with beautiful crafts and art as well as a variety of traditional African foods.

The South African stalls had much to present to Vienna with a variety of wines, food, flowers and crafts. The Protea flowers were beautiful and their stalls looked stunning. It appeared as if the South african team was having alot of fun while working, yet at the same time fulfilling the goal of raising funds for a cause.

UNWG support a worthy cause of the children and women around the world, we wish them all the best and will continue to support them, many they continue their deeds around the world.

About UNWG

2012 marks the 45th year of the United Nations Women’s Guild Vienna, since it was founded in 1967. The twin branches of this sturdy oak are friendship and charity. Currently the UNWG has more than 500 members from over 100 different countries.

Membership of the UNWG provides an immediate resource for women arriving in Vienna, to find out about this beautiful city and its facilities. From the many varied activities that the UNWG provides, we can develop friendships with members from all over the world, to enhance a respect for different cultures. Whilst enjoying ourselves, we raise money for children in need, mainly through the annual Bazaar held in December, but also through activities and tours held throughout the year.

Language should never be a barrier. Guild members come from many countries and there is always someone who speaks the same language. There are many conversational groups organized by the Guild that helps members to become familiar with other languages and cultures.
