abujaThe first Nigerian Cultural Week is taking place in Vienna starting from today the 24th of June till 29 June 2013, at the  Welt Museum, Neue Burg, 1010, Vienna, Austria.


Nollywood will be coming to Vienna for the first time! The aim is not only to entertain but also to  enlighten the public about the film culture that Nigeria boasts of. Nollywood films such as the Last flight to Abuja by Award Winner Direktor Obi Emelonye will be screened with German subtitles.

Yoruba films such as Ife o dogba ie Love is not equal will also be screened with subtitles in English.


28th June


A highlight will be the Adire workshop with the world reknowned Nike Davies-Okundayo of the Nike Art Gallery in Nigeria. Nigerian languages will also be presented through stories and songs.

29th June


It is Carniva timel! There will be party from the Nigerian Embassy till the Welt Museum Vienna.

There will be fashion shows with Ayo van Elmar, Owoara Finesse, Couture and Kijiji Africa.

Live on Stage: Shefiu Alao, Mutiu Ishola, Ola Egbowon, AWOBA, Elvis Zuma and Teddy Ziggy as well as DJ line: DJ Ziggy, DJ Crocodile, DJ Jakata and DJ Baba Ewe.

Prominent Guests such as David Alaba (FC Bayern München), Lydia Obute (Austria Topmodel 2011), Yemisi Rieger (Miss Vienna 2013) Rubin Okotie (FC Sturm Graz) will also be present.
