United Kingdom media is reporting that track superstar Usain Bolt is being heavily criticized, following media images showing him posing with clothes produced by an American firm that produces cannabis apparel.

The Sun Newspaper published pictures of the six time Olympic gold medallist posing beside some cannabis T shirts which are produced by the company The Pothead Diaries.

According to the newspaper, helping to promote such merchandise did not sit well with several individuals from anti-drug groups, who blasted Bolt, for forgetting his role as a sports icon and role model.

Bolt holds the world record over both the 100m and 200m at 9.58 seconds and 19.19 seconds and is one of the world’s most marketable sporting figures
According to the company’s website, their product is to help “Express your inner pothead and celebrate our love for the culture and our involvement in it.”
It added: “Join us in getting involved with the evolution of cannabis apparel.”

It’s understood that the photos were later removed.
