2012 saw Carvalho promoting his promo EP but now with great anticipation the extremely talented/multi instrumentalist UK Birmingham based singer/songwriter. Carvalho released his album "All the things you know to be true?" on the 26.04.2013.
Carvalho has already tasted success in South Africa when his song "Loving U" was remixed and has now sold 19,000 units. This album should take Carvalho further into the mainstream.
Lyrically the album takes you on a journey through love, rejection, passion and even touching on social themes check Electric Cotton & Du et. What will grab the listener is that Carvalho has incorporated a sense of humor alongside memorable hooks that will linger and embed themselves into the listeners mind.
While musically his main influence of Soul is mingled with Jazz and other musical genres of the diaspora such as Hip hop, Afro beat, Afro Brazilian and Reggae. Throughout the album musical textures, liquid grooves, instrumentation and rhythms build into crescendos creating various moods e.g. Beware and Baby K. Vocally he has his own style as a smooth tenor with a dynamic range but remains soulful and heartfelt throughout as the harmonies colorfully interject a great example of this is the track Love Song.
The album was produced alongside Grammy nominated Producer Paul Horton as well as a production from US based producer DC (Du ET) and Norwegian based producer Henrik Berhane (Feels Good). This is original Soul music at its best!
Expect a single and video release in the coming months with remixes.
