Mr. Nelson Mandela, former President of the Republic of South Africa, has passed away on Thursday, 5 December 2013.

 

Book of condolence 


A book of condolence will be open for signature at the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa at Sandgasse 33, 1190 Vienna, on Monday 9 December and Tuesday, 10 December from 09h00 to 16h00 as well as on Thursday, 12 December and Friday, 13 December from 09h00 to 16h00.

Memorial Service 


A Memorial Service for the former President Nelson Mandela will be held on Wednesday, 11 December 2013, from 13h00 to 14h30, at the Lutheran Church, Dorotheergasse 18, 1010 Vienna.

AS A SOUTH AFRICAN, I KNOW MANY HEARTS ARE SADDENED AT THE NEWS THAT CIRCULATES INTERNATIONALLY AS THE WORLD MOURNS HIS PASSING,THE FATHER OF OUR SOUTH AFRICAN NATION IS NOW RESTING IN PEACE AFTER A LONG STRUGGLE FIGHTING HIS ILLNESS. NELSON MANDELA'S FIGHT WAS NOT ONLY SHORT LIVED BUT THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF HIS LIFE, HE HAD A VISION THAT HE SAW COME TO LIFE UNITING THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATION! EXTRAORDINARY TO MANY, HIS LEGACY WILL LIVE ON. LALA NGOXOLO, TSAMAYA SENTLE, REST IN PEACE TATA!
